People coming: Francois, Adrian, Mark, James, Jimmy, Cerri, Beth, Ksenjia, Nicola.

Notes: Francois sorting out his own transport staying mon-thurs

Ksenjia staying sun-thurs (are you ok making your own way back? You should arrive back in     the UK at about 2200h)

Things to think about:

·         Do people want to stay in the Barracks or pay extra for the hotel? Apparently the conditions in the barracks were appalling.  With this decision I know some of us definitely don’t want to stay in the barracks but some have little money and so are willing to put up with it... this is an individual decision but once you have made it you cannot change your mind no matter how bad the Barracks are or who you have to share a room with.

·         If we stayed at the hotel for 3 nights (mon, teus and wed) it will cost £1253 (£140 each).  Alternatively we could stay for 2 nights and travel up to central Paris on the wed night.  It would mean missing out on the “closing party” but it would mean we could come back on the Friday therefore making it all a bit cheaper.  If we stayed for 2 nights then its £827 (£91) (plus £45 each for the hotel in Paris on the wed night for François and apple). Majority rules on this  as we can’t leave people behind

·         We have £1000 in the budget to subsidise this trip... do we split it between everyone (112 each) or just the students (143 each).  My opinion is to share it evenly as for the sake of £30 difference would mean Adrian and François save £100 which is quite a bit and we do kind of need them to make the teams.  Majority rules on this one.

Summary:  Barracks/hotel? 2/3 nights at competition? Split funding evenly or just for students?

Please answer these questions asap (with the exception of Adrian and francois who don’t get a choice)

James, jimmy and cerri I will probably see you tonight to ask.  If anyone has questions get back to me asap.  If anyone hasn’t made a decision by the end of Sunday I will make it for you as I really need to make these bookings – the price of the hotel has already gone up since my initial enquiries.

once these decisions have been made i will be able to give an accurate itinneary/ cost for everyone

x

p.s prepare for me to get arsy over paris over the next month.... its suprisingly akward and annoying trying to organise students on holiday.

Staying the 3 nights sound sbetter and given all the crap ive heard about the barrack i'd rather take the more expensive option. And i'd quite like the see the after party, and not rush the trip home so 3 days sounds good to me.

I don't think its fair for students to decide if they share the funding> its either a full commitee thing, or up to those non-students to donate it out of the goodness of their hearts :P

Ok def not barracks for me, hotel all the way. Secondly I suggest moving to the central paris hotel on the weds night becuase in the past the party is at a club in central paris and it will be hard getting back to the other hotel etc. due to transport being annoying. But if we went into the centre we still could go to the party if that makes sense.

Right everything is finally sorted and I have a itinerary for the trip.  I sugesst that we meet up at 8pm on friday (just before training) outside the old sports hall to discuss the final plans and sort out all kit.  Adrian and francois I will talk to you this week to tell you the plans.

Also a reminder that everyone needs to have at least an E111 form if not full travel insurance and that beth, apple, james, adrian and Jimmy all still owe me £127... I need this by tomorrow at the latest if paying by cheque/bacs or thursday if paying by cash....the money needs to be clear in my account by the time we arrive on monday otherwise i cannot afford to pay for the hotel......I will be on campus all day everyday (except for this aft where im prob going to go home at 3 ish) so just give me a ring when you have it.
